Supports the Applications Department by providing necessary assistance to achieve annual objectives, serve customers and collaborate effectively and efficiently with team members.
Help Applications Lab with Lexicon projects.
Support Food Scientists on projects.
Evaluate new flavors as to their purpose and usage.
Run triangle tests coming from Quality Control and all testing on Flavor Lab projects.
Master the procedures necessary for completion of projects in Product Vision.
Responsible for running all applications and usage levels on all new flavors developed for Edlong.
Maintain and refill all the dry base mixes to be used in application products.
Perform all sensory testing coming from Quality Control and the Flavor Lab.
Master the necessary procedures to run different types of sensory testing.
Assist with the preparation of the snack of the month, flavor of the month or other programs that are assigned to the Applications Lab.
Work with the Applications Lab in gathering all materials needed for the show and tells, customer presentations, supplier’s night, IFT, AACC, BCMA, RCA.
Maintain a legible & accurate lab notebook for recording project information and evaluation results.
Use laboratory/kitchen equipment in a safe and effective manner following manufacturers instructions provided.
Follow lab safety guidelines as instructed in policy and safety manual at all times.
Maintain cleanliness of laboratory facilities, equipment and utensils immediately following use.
Manually stir and/or mix ingredients during preparation procedure if necessary.
Be aware of costs involved in duties, such as materials, ingredients, equipment, time, etc.
Evaluate flavor preparations using taste, smell, stability, and solubility using vision.
Assist in the evaluation of flavors/products both in the lab and in formal taste panel sessions by tasting whatever is required.
Communicate verbally or in writing with other employees to invite them to tasting and evaluating products.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results in adherence to Corporate Mission, Vision and Strategic goals as needed.
Taste panel participation.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge base by sponsoring or attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies.
Support the alignment of global business practices, processes and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Food Science or related field.
